The Albany agenda.The Suffolk bill.
Look at the pump. Look at the utility bill. Look at who keeps getting released.
Monica Martinez wants another term in the State Senate. Before you decide, look at HER record: the climate law, the $277 billion budget, the bail votes, and the Working Families line she accepted.
That is not bad luck. That is her vote.
on the path her vote set
She voted for the climate law. You pay at the pump and on the utility bill.
In 2019 Monica Martinez voted for the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act. She called it the most aggressive climate law in the country.
That vote set the path.
- All-electric buildingsYes
- Electric-vehicle mandatesYes
- Electric busesYes
- Cap-and-investYes
The result is already in the mailbox. Soaring utility bills. And $2.23 more on a gallon of gas.
She did not stop.
- Corporate emissions and plastics mandates
- The HEAT Act — a state plan to push homeowners off natural gas
- Zero-emission school buses
- A ban on offshore drilling
- A data-center moratorium that freezes investment and strips local control
The sermon is in Albany. The collection plate is the LIPA bill and the gas pump.
Medicaid enrollment. Automatic registration. No citizenship check.
Martinez supported automatic voter registration the moment someone enrolls in Medicaid. That includes non-citizens.
- Step 1Enroll in MedicaidA benefit application — not a citizenship check.
- Step 2Automatic voter registrationTriggered the moment someone enrolls. That includes non-citizens.
- Step 3No citizenship checkShe voted to skip it.
She also voted to enroll people in jail in Medicaid before anyone confirms they qualify. Once they are on, they can stay on for months even if they were never eligible.
A benefit application is not a citizenship check.
Your vote is supposed to mean something. She voted to blur the line.
The spending gets bigger. So does your share.
- 2026 state budget — $277 billionYes
- The budget bills — all of themYes
- 40+ new health-insurance mandatesBacked
- CDPAP home-care overhaulYes
- Fully fund rape crisis, domestic violence, and child advocacy servicesNo
She voted not to fully fund rape crisis services, domestic violence programs, and child advocacy centers.
In 2026 she backed more than 40 new health-insurance mandates. Every one of them lands in a premium. She voted for the CDPAP overhaul, then stayed with her conference while the home-care rollout collapsed and patients begged Albany to stop it.
Yes on the budget. Yes on the budget bills. All of them.
She votes for the spending. You vote with your paycheck.
She voted to open the door. Then she asked for the endorsement.
- She voted for cashless bail.
- She voted for a sanctuary-style bill that blocks certain civil arrests around court.
- She supported SNAP, WIC, and HEAP for people in jail.
She fights federal immigration enforcement in her own district. She called one local deportation “a moral abomination.” She backs a pathway to citizenship and taxpayer-funded college aid for people here illegally.
She told Newsday her earlier no vote on licenses for illegal immigrants was about Trump, not the policy. Different president, she said, and her vote would be yes.
Suffolk PBA refused to endorse her.
They cited the criminal-justice votes they said weakened police and public safety.
Suffolk PBA endorsed her.
Same record. Same votes.
The votes did not change. The endorsement did.
The endorsement tells you what she is willing to stand with.
Martinez is the Democratic candidate. She is also on the Working Families Party line.
That is not a courtesy on a palm card.
- In 2020 the Working Families Party launched a fund with the Movement for Black Lives for candidates who favor defunding the police.
- National Director Maurice Mitchell said they were “not interested in nibbling around the edges or accepting symbolic concessions.”
- The party has opposed rollbacks of New York’s 2019 bail law.
- It has backed abolishing ICE and called for cutting the Department of Homeland Security.
- It has promoted bail funds while demanding divestment from police.
- Its economic program is tax more and spend more.
Martinez accepted the line.
The label is Democratic. The endorsement is Working Families. The record is hers.
She taught the kids. Then she cut the parents out.
Ten years in a Brentwood classroom. Four as an assistant principal. Then she voted to move the decisions to Albany.
Library staff decide.
Staff decide what is “developmentally appropriate.” Parents and school boards lose the check.
A mandated story of the country.
She cosponsors a bill forcing schools to teach racial oppression and inequality as the story of how this country was built.
“Gestating parent.”
She voted to strip “mother” and “father” from state law.
A legal safe haven.
She voted for a legal safe haven around gender-affirming care for minors.
She once backed religious exemptions for vaccines. Then she voted to force campers onto the public-school schedule with none.
A teacher’s resume. Albany’s agenda.
Put it together.
- Soaring utility bills.
- $2.23 more at the pump.
- Non-citizens moved toward the voter roll.
- A $277 billion budget.
- Bail left in place.
- A Working Families endorsement.
- Parents cut out.

Monica Martinez has been in office for years. She lost the seat once. She came back and voted the same way.
She wants another term. You would be paying for it.
- Look at the pump.
- Look at the utility bill.
- Look at who keeps getting released.
- Look at the line she accepted.
No mo Monica. Suffolk cannot afford the bill.
